The Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge includes a patchwork of small native prairies, most of the refuge is the result of reconstruction efforts over more than 11,000 acres. Our day begins at the Prairie Learning Center to view the exhibits, take a hike on the trails and enjoy a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, we'll head out on the 13 mile audio guided driving tour to see the bison and elk herds.
Participants are encouraged to register with friends to facilitate carpooling. We can caravan from Hurstville Interpretive Center, leaving at 8 AM. There is no cost for this event, but donations to the refuge are encouraged.
All adults are welcome to join us for the OWLS group! (Older Wiser Livelier - in partnership with Dubuque, Jackson and Jones County)
Registration is REQUIRED! Call 563-652-3783 or email jacksonccb@jacksonccb.com
